Most of us have heard stories of subliminal messaging as shown in the adjacent video the most popular one was that of James Vicary who claimed to have introduced subliminal messages with big advertisement effects in 1957 when he conducted an experiment with very quickly flashing messages in the movies of a cinema in New Jersey.
Researchers use technologies such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to measure changes in activity in parts of the brain, electroencephalography (EEG) and Steady state topography (SST) to measure activity in specific regional spectra of the brain response, or sensors to measure changes in one's physiological state, also known as biometrics, including heart rate and respiratory rate, galvanic skin response to learn why consumers make the decisions they do, and which brain areas are responsible. As you will see in the adjacent video to put it simply control your buying and viewing habits by monitoring the epi programming and it reaction in your brain.

As if epi programming through subliminal messaging and product placement was not enough neuromarketing is being used to determine neurological responses to advertising, movie and television programming. As seen in the adjacent video and described by Wikipedia “Neuromarketing is a field of marketing research that studies consumers' sensorimotor, cognitive, and affective response to marketing stimuli.
“The EC-130J Commando Solo, a specially-modified four-engine Hercules transport, conducts Military Information Support Operations (MISO) and civil affairs broadcasts in FM radio, television and military communications bands. These missions are typically flown at night to reduce probability of detection in politically sensitive or hostile territories. In 2003, the Commando Solo was deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit has also deployed in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 to the Middle East in support of overseas contingency operations.” – United States Air Force
The messages projected phrases like "Drink Coca Cola" or "Hungry? Eat popcorn". It was displayed so fast that people never consciously could notice them. Vicary claimed that the messages increased the sales of popcorn and Coke. This started mass hysteria. People were afraid that subliminal messaging was already taking place in films and was being used to advertise or for propaganda without people knowing it.
Daily broadcasts urge Iraqi soldiers to go home, surrender or at least hold their fire. The transmissions, beamed from the aircraft and picked up on local AM, FM and shortwave radio, start with Arabic and Western music, then segue into soothing messages about America's good intentions and Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's misdeeds. – Los Angeles Times - Military's 'Weapon of Mass Persuasion' March 20, 2003
“We know how that men can be made to do exactly anything.....It's all a question of finding the right means. If only we take enough trouble and go sufficiently slowly, we can make him kill his aged parents and eat them in a stew." - J. Edgar Hoover, United States of America a 1939 CIA Memorandum.
The only problem was: The experiment never took place; Vicary lied for fame and fabricated the results. That said, as you will see in the adjacent video Programming The Nation what we now call subliminal epi programming not only took off but has also grow into what has come to be known in Hollywood as product placement.

“Iraqi soldiers crossed the Kuwaiti border and surrendered. Leading the charge was Commando Solo, a fleet of specially fitted C-130 cargo carriers bristling with sophisticated electronic equipment that has been broadcasting U.S. radio programs to enemy lands since the Vietnam War.
HAARP (The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a research program designed to analyze the ionosphere, a portion of the upper atmosphere that stretches from about 53 miles (85 kilometers) above the surface of the Earth to 370 miles (600 kilometers) up. The program has been funded by the Air Force, the Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA HAARP cost more than $290 million to build, much of it earmarked by late Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who had great influence over the U.S. defense budget during his time in Congress.
Conspiracy theorists think HAARP's purpose is far more sinister than meets the eye. The program has been blamed for everything from global warming to natural disasters to mysterious humming noises in the sky. Online, conspiracy theorists suggest that HAARP was to blame for the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan; the Moore, Oklahoma, tornado of 2013; a landslide in 2006 in the Philippines; and many more natural disasters. Other conspiracy theories hold that HAARP controls people's minds or is capable of altering the very fabric of reality.” – ABC News
