CAN YOU DO THIS?

People have asked us, “if the epi fountain of youth is effective, then why did you get cancer?” First and foremost, we live in a universe of infinite possibilities that changes by the moment, therefore there are no guaranties that anyone will not get cancer (or any other disease) regardless of how healthy we may think we are. For me, the work I did personally with the epi fountain of youth prepared my body to take on a very aggressive cancer and recover after only a few short months. I live a healthy and balanced life and have learned other ways to continue to love myself. We’ve also been asked, “can I create an epi fountain of youth?” “What is the difference between what you have accomplished and other health and fitness programs?” While our overall process may be different due to the technologies we use and our scientific research and spiritual perspectives, the epi process of changing the physiology of your body through your perceptions is the same for any health and fitness program. Once again, the premise of epi (changing our physiology through perceptions) is how all life sustains itself -- we all do it all the time and we can’t live without it. The difference is that we (Keema and Rob) are consciously aware of the power of epi and most people, including too many health and fitness experts, are not. Inevitably, our bodies will age and while there are certainly many biological considerations that effect aging, previous research on perceptions and epigenetic resetting (including our Epi Fountain of Youth) support that the aging clock can be reversed to restore characteristics of youthfulness to aged tissues, cells, and even appearance.

So, yes -- you can reverse your psychological and biological age through self-empowerment to create your own epi fountain of youth. You do not need extensive research or technology or even a clear understanding of epi or our journey, but you may consider asking yourself:
Have I been emotionally and/or physically abusing myself with an unhealthy lifestyle? Have I been advancing my biological age and reducing my life expectancy? Have I been unknowingly displaying unconscious suicidal behaviors?

But the most important question you may ask yourself, regardless of the health and fitness journey you may choose is, am I willing to wake up and love myself in mind,
body, and spirit, and change my adverse lifestyle and perceptions to flourish in the health and vitality of my own epi fountain of youth for the rest of my life?

If there is such a thing as trying to commit unconscious suicide, then I (Rob) was unknowingly attempting it back in 2008 through my unhealthy lifestyle and negative perceptions of myself. The picture provided is me at the age of 52. Don’t let the smile fool you as I was not only very unhappy, distressed, and obese, but could not walk for more than 20 minutes without having to endure excruciating back pain and numbness in my right leg. Lacking self-love, I hated what I saw in the mirror and like many people my age, felt that old age sucked (a reflection of my perception of my psychological age).In discovering epi (epigenetics) and that humans are not their chronological (calendar) age, I had my biomarkers tested to determine my biological age and learned that it was estimated to be 5 to 10 years older than my chronological age.

EPI FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
Changing the physiology of my body through my perceptions

A True Story

From Ponce de Leon to modern day scientists, the fountain of youth has been sought out for hundreds, if not thousands of years. There are many reasons for this quest including youthfulness, immortality, fear of aging, superficiality, and health. While for some, the fountain of youth may be a myth, recent scientific findings have shown evidence for turning back the biological clock of time. We will delve into some of our findings and our true story on how we created and maintain what we call, our Epi Fountain of Youth.

YOU ARE NOT YOUR AGE

It is first essential to understand that ultimately, the human body will age. That said, humans basically have three ages: chronological, psychological, and biological age. Chronological age as we know it is our calendar age – it tells us the time we’ve been living since birth. While this may be important in terms of how we measure our life span and other factors, it is probably the most inaccurate age when it comes to the true age of our bodies. Psychological age is based on one’s perception of them self. For example, you have probably heard yourself or someone express their psychological age by thinking and saying, “I feel so old” or “I feel younger than my age”.

Then you have your biological age. Along with psychological age, this is also one of the most important and accurate of the two ages because it is the body’s actual physical age, which has been shown to change according to our perceptions of our psychological age. While you will see that we can manipulate our biological age, we are not suggesting that you can turn back your biological clock to when you were a saggy-bottomed diaper baby or saying that lifetime self-abusers won’t live long lives. Instead, we will look at the potential to change our awareness of aging to help us maintain vigor and well-being throughout our lives in health and even in appearance.

EPI - RESETTING THE AGING CLOCK

Epigenetics, or what we refer to as epi, is a relatively new science which is changing the way the scientific community addresses genetics and health. Epi is based on the premise of changing the physiology of our bodies through our environments and perceptions. Humans do it all the time; it is how all life sustains itself. The concern is that many people are unaware that they are epigenetically programming their minds and bodies in ways that are adverse to their well-being, which includes advancing their psychological and biological ages. In 2012, Thomas Rando, M.D., Ph.D. and Howard Y. Chang, M.D., Ph.D. of Stanford University published an article on Aging, Rejuvenation, and Epigenetic Reprogramming: Resetting the Aging Clock noting that recent studies suggested that the rate of aging may be modified by genetic and environmental factors. Furthermore, the aging clock can be reversed to restore characteristics of youthfulness to aged tissues and cells. These researchers focused on the emerging biology rejuvenation through the lens of epigenetic reprogramming.

COUNTERCLOCKWISE

In 1979, Dr. Ellen Langer, a professor of psychology at Harvard University, conducted a “Counterclockwise” study to learn how mental attitudes can reverse the effects of aging and improve physical health. She and her team took older men in their late 70s and early 80s to a retreat retrofitted to evoke 20 years earlier, complete with food, films, decorations, photos, and the like from 1959. The group of men mindfully listened to the radio, discussed news, politics, and sports, and acted as if they were in their late 50s and early 60s, respectively. Rather than making a point of living in the past, the focus was on giving mental signals to the body to “reflect the energy and biological responses of a much younger person” (Aging in Reverse, 2010). After the time warp retreat, the men looked noticeably younger and showed improvements in their memory, vision, strength, hearing, dexterity, appetite, and cognitive abilities. Because their minds were actively engaged in living 20 years earlier, their bodies seemed to follow. Dr. Langer and these men basically experienced what Drs. Rando and Chang referred to as “epigenetic reprogramming” which was a result of changing the physiology of their bodies through their perceptions (Rando & Chang, 2012).

Throughout the years, I was aging my body parts by living an unhealthy lifestyle through perpetual negative thoughts and perceptions, neglecting my body, and not doing anything to address these (and other) issues as they worsened. By doing this, I was epigenetically programming my body to reduce my life expectancy, thereby not loving myself, and unknowingly committing unconscious suicide.

AWAKENING

For the most part, many people are taught at an early age to love their parents, siblings, relatives, partners, pets, money, jobs, and other things or beings, but not themselves. I (Rob) was one of those people and in 2008, amidst my metaphysical beginnings and inspired by Dr. Bruce Lipton’s book The Biology of Belief, which addresses epigenetics, I suddenly woke up. I awakened from my self-abuse and asked myself, ‘If I truly love myself and my life, then why am I emotionally and physically abusing my body with overconsumption of processed foods, lack of exercise, and a host of negative perceptions and distressful thoughts that weaken if not shut down my immune system which can cause me illness and death?’ I thought, ‘am I going to continue these unconscious suicidal behaviors or wake up and reverse my psychological and biological age in the spirt of self-love?’ I chose self-love!

MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, AND EPI

As a Buddhist proverb goes, what we think, we become. Inspired by epi and its premise of changing the physiology of our bodies through our perceptions, I took this concept and the Buddhist proverb steps further and integrated science of the West with spiritual wisdom of the East using medically accurate biological data, virtual reality, metaphysical insights, proper diet, and exercise to epigenetically reprogram the expression of my DNA and subconscious and unconscious levels of mind. In less than a year, my biological age went counterclockwise from 5 to 10 years older than my chronological age to being between 17 and 22 years younger than my calendar age (about 22-32 years difference). I eliminated the excruciating back pain and numbness in my right leg and since, have been able to walk for more than 20 minutes; in fact, I have taken numerous global trekking adventures since 2008 including hiking Haleakala Crater on Maui 3 times which took me 9 hours at 10,000 feet each time. Then in 2015, an extremely aggressive form of stage 4 cancer hit me rapidly accelerating my biological age to near death. Through epi and integrative medicine, we (Keema and Rob) not only reversed the cancer and my biological age, but when doctors explained that it may take me up to a year to get back to walking normally, I was plainly walking, dancing, and driving within 3 weeks. As the provided pictures show, I am now alive and well in 2018, vibrantly and youthfully living as a result of our epi fountain of youth.
