While there are many examples of addictions to violence the reason why we are compelled to mention the addiction to religious violence is because religion for the most part has been a major driving force in the social engineering of humankind. It is very important for us to point out that we realize that this may be a very sensitive topic for some people.
Please note that this brains reward circuits are the same reward circuits mention in the previously mentioned 2011 Harvard Medical Health Publication How Addiction Hijacks the Brain and the corresponding video we provide which also express concerns regarding excessive dopamine release to outside stimulus. The adjacent video also gives you a better understanding of the brains reward system regarding the addiction to cocaine and methamphetamines and its affiliation with dopamine which is presented by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
According to Russian biophysicist and molecular biologist Pjotr Garjajev and his colleagues their scientific research found that “DNA can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies without cutting out and replacing single genes. Our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body but also serves as data storage and in communication. The alkalines of our DNA follow a regular grammar and do have set rules just like our languages.” Please note, this would include the 730,000,000 (million) negative or unhappy thoughts, statements humans are exposed to, through violent media, entertainment, religions and other social engineering.
Regardless if one justifies, supports, agrees or disagrees with religious violence neuroscientist Jeffrey Anderson, M.D., Ph.D., explains in the adjacent video that through extensive research he and his colleagues found that the same brain regions that researchers associated with having religious experiences included the nucleus accumbens, which is the brains reward circuits that are also involved in highly addictive drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamines.
ADDICTION TO RELIGIOUS VIOLENCE
That said, please keep in mind that as you will see out through this website there are wonderful and inspirational religious messages we share that can help guide one to their awakening but as with most life situations in our relative world that have positive and negative polarities the positive side of religion also has as an opposite negative polarity, unfortunately it is expressed through religious violence.
"One should not question the spiritual reasons for which a person accepts a religion, but the rational views of such a thought can always come under scrutiny. After all, if a religion claims to be the Truth then it can withstand the crucible of a rational examination. " - Osaama Saifi award-winning member of the Muslim Writers Guild of America
Religious violence is a term that covers phenomena where religion is either the subject or object of violent behavior. For thousands of years humans have worship religions filled with violence by Gods and or deities that according to their scriptures inflicted suffering, diseases and even genocide upon millions of humans and other sentient beings around the world or battled among other gods for the quest of power over the human race. Dr. Charles Selengut, Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology at County College of Morris characterizes the phrase "religion and violence" as "jarring," asserting that "religion is thought to be opposed to violence and a force for peace and reconciliation. He acknowledges, however, that "the history and scriptures of the world's religions tell stories of violence and war even as they speak of peace and love.
ADDICTED TO 730,000,000 (MILLION) UNHAPPY THOUGHTS AND STATEMENTS
This served us well—in fact, it was critical for survival of our species when we were foraging for food centuries ago, paying close attention to anything that might place us in danger, like a saber-toothed tiger. While this fear based negativity bias may have been beneficial for humanity at one time we no longer have to be concerned with saber-toothed tigers. Unfortunately this primitive transgenerational epigenetic inherence or subconscious programming is still being activated in modern day humans for the subconscious mind does not know the difference between the presents of a saber-toothed tiger and the fear based negativity bias of losing a job, failed relationships, loss of money, adverse politics, or the addiction to unhappiness.
"Faith is the virtue of the storm, just as happiness is the virtue of sunshine." - Ruth Fulton Benedict
WORDS CHANGE OUR DNA
Many people would agree that negative thoughts and statements are associated with unhappiness and therefore most people try to avoid them, but can we? According to numerus online publications the University of Iowa estimates that the average 2-year-old child hears 32 negative statements per day.
That is an average of 157,680 negative statements a year. If exposed to negative statements from utero to 7 years of age (The learning years) that comes to approximately 1,235,520 negative statements. Because the child’s conscious brain or cerebral cortex is not yet fully developed during the leaning years the 1,235,520 negative statements based on their environment of social engineering (education, culture, religion, etc.) are recorded by the subconscious mind (key words) and stored for the rest of the child’s life which science as shown can have negative consequence on the physical and mental health of the child and also once they are an adult. Based on these findings by midlife, age 40 it is estimated that there are approximately 730,000,000 (million) negative or unhappy thoughts and statements humans are exposed to and because they are programmed into the subconscious mind may not be unaware of their addiction to them and the influence they have on violence, happiness or unhappiness.
CDH13 VIOLENT GENE
While 40% of our happiness or unhappiness is due to our own actions, 50% is set by our genes, and another 10% is unaccounted for, at least that’s what psychology professor Sonja Lyubomirsky says in her book The How of Happiness, and according to The Association for Psychological Science new research finds that “a previously known gene variant may predispose individuals to perceive emotional events — especially negative ones — more vividly than others.”
ADDICTION TO VIOLENCE AND UNHAPPINESS
The following was published in 2014 by Molecular Psychiatry tilted Genetic background of extreme violent behavior. “Our results, from two independent cohorts of Finnish prisoners, revealed that a monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) low-activity genotype (contributing to low dopamine turnover rate) known as the “warrior” gene as well as the CDH13 gene (coding for neuronal membrane adhesion protein) are associated with extremely violent behavior (at least 10 committed homicides, attempted homicides or batteries).
No substantial signal was observed for either MAOA or CDH13 among non-violent offenders, indicating that findings were specific for violent offending, and not largely attributable to substance abuse or antisocial personality disorder. These results indicate both low monoamine metabolism and neuronal membrane dysfunction as plausible factors in the etiology of extreme criminal violent behavior, and imply that at least about 5–10% of all severe violent crime in Finland is attributable to the aforementioned MAOA and CDH13 genotypes.” Also see adjacent video.
Most people would agree that negativity is associated with unhappiness and therefore many people try to stay away from negativity, but is that really possible? As the adjacent video explains science believes that humans are neurologically hard wired with what is referred to as a negativity bias base on fear and that our brains are designed to take in and register negative or fearful experiences more deeply than positive experiences.

ADRA2b THE UNHAPPY GENE
The following is from the new findings published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science. “This is the first study to find that this genetic variation can significantly affect how people see and experience the world,” says psychological scientist Rebecca Todd of the University of British Columbia. “The findings suggest people experience emotional aspects of the world partly through gene-colored glasses — and that biological variations at the genetic level can play a significant role in individual differences in perception.” The unhappy gene is the ADRA2b deletion variant, which influences the hormone and neurotransmitter norepinephrine. Previously found to play a role in the formation of emotional memories, the new study shows that the ADRA2b deletion variant also plays a role in real-time perception.” This would include people’s perception of violence, happiness and unhappiness.
