As the reach shows humans are neurologically hard wired with a negativity bias and some may even have the ADRA2b unhappy gene and or the MAOA and CDH13 Warrior Genes, either way it is the human experience to be unhappy about some life situations such as an illness, loss of a job or death of a loved one or even be violent in defense of one’s safety and wellbeing. In fact some psychologist feel that if unhappiness is denied or resisted it can be adviser to our health and of course violence is justified if one needs to defend themselves in a violent life threatening situation. That said, as indicated by the research it is when people become unhappy our violent unknowingly or subconsciously making it their self-identification to the point of emotionally and even physically abusing themselves, others and or planet and misperceiving that unhappiness and violence for love, peace, and happiness that becomes a concern.
Now don’t get us wrong as the research shows there is nothing wrong with dopamine, adrenaline or cortisol, in fact they are responsible for the survival of our species, it is how we active them through the addiction to outside stimuli such as drugs, gambling, unhappiness and even violence that humans can’t stop that is the concern as Mr. Palmer states “I do not think we believe that violence is a true solution, but like the addict we need the fix” (dopamine, adrenaline and cortisol).
Dr. Anderson pointed out in his video on religious experiences “in our paragraph on Religious Violence that the brain regions that were associated with having religious experiences included the nucleus accumbens, which is involved in cocaine and methamphetamines.” Note that the nucleus accumbens was referred to in the 2011 Harvard Medical Health Publication on our selection on How Addiction Hijacks the Brain which the corresponding video showed that cocaine and methamphetamines help release a cocktail of feel good hormones including dopamine during its high. During withdraws of these drugs cortisol and adrenaline which stress out the body are released, that is unlit the relief of dopamine through more cocaine or methamphetamines are once again ingested, this is why as the research shows these drugs are considered highly addictive. This may also be why the religionist experience of going to a church, synagogue or temples on Sunday, feeling good with“positive emotions” (dopamine, etc.) and then the rest of the week people stress out with “negative emotions” (adrenaline and cortisol).
This hormonal roller-coaster or hedonic treadmill may be why Dr. David Sack and his colleagues who evaluated why people enjoy horror movies, and are drawn to extreme sports and other risky activities that elicit terror or disgust are “happy to be unhappy.” They are feeling the rushes of the highs and lows of cortisol, adrenalin and dopamine. In fact it is believed that people go through this type of cortisol, adrenalin and dopamine rush when actually riding a roller-coaster.
WHY THIS MAY BE IMPORTANT TO YOU
When participating in the outside stimuli or activity they then release the feel good biological chemical mentioned in the research as dopamine that relieves the distress (cortisol and adrenalin) giving a type of biological thrill ride of emotional highs and lows. This hormonal roller-coaster is also associated with what is referred to as the hedonic treadmill (see related topics).
“The children are the change, we are the messengers, change the message, change the children, SAVE THE WORLD.”
One commonality out through our research is that most people that seek happiness through outside stimuli may it be religion, spots, entertainment, participating, inflicting, or observing acts of aggression and or violence in pursuit of love, peace and happiness are usually under some type of emotional distress or discomfort that is simulated by hormones called cortisol and adrenalin.
Is there anything wrong with occasionally watching or participating in such aggressive and or violent activities? We will let you determine that for yourself, but that said, remember epigenetics is changing the psychology of your body through your perceptions and environment. As mentioned out through this web site from walking to driving a car redundancy or repetitiveness plays a major role in the epigenetic learning process that programs yours and a child’s subconscious mind so that you no long have to consciously think about walking or driving the car you just automatically do it. If most everything you and your love ones do or learn repeatedly that impacts your life for better or worst takes this same epi process. Why would repeatedly watching or participating in violent, aggressive or unhappy behaviors be an exception for adults or children, for all adults were children at one time as most children become adults.

ADDICTION TO VIOLENCE AND UNHAPPINESS
This may be why many people emotionally and even physically abuse themselves and others and when confronted say they love themselves and or love the people they abuses or even the people that are abusing them such as in the case of spousal or child abuse as pointed out by Dr. Pieper, Ph.D “People who have an acquired unrecognized need (subconscious) to cause themselves unhappiness often come from stressful, abusive or highly dysfunctional childhoods. When a child grows up with this type of discomfort, they tend to normalize it (subconsciously). So, for these children, the discomfort of unhappiness was equated with being loved.”
I (Rob) am very familiar with this form of misperceived “love” for as you read in my bio I grow up with and in many case still have relatives that emotionally abuse themselves and others and call it love and happiness and are unaware of their actions and if confronted like most addicts would most likely deny it with anger and aggression all while claiming “love and happiness.” Which is the case and point, and as a result I behaved in the same manner for most of my life until I woke up to this adverse epigenetic unconscious programming and changed it. As stated by Psychology Today’s definition of addiction, “People who have developed an addiction may not be aware that their behavior is out of control and causing problems for themselves and others.”
Cortisol, adrenalin and dopamine Rush
"...[P]eople enjoy horror movies, and are drawn to extreme sports and other risky activities that elicit terror or disgust are happy to be unhappy.” - Dr. David Sack
Thank god it’s Friday Syndrome
Another example is what we call the Thank god it’s Friday syndrome, where people are stressed out all week (adrenaline and cortisol) and then come the weekend are relived through outside stimuli’s and get high on their weekend fix of dopamine of “positive emotions” and then stress out the rest of the week with “adrenaline and cortisol” that is until Friday comes around then one again it is time for another - thank god it’s Friday dopamine fix.
The last one to know
What is also interesting is that just like many addictions where the addict is usually the last one to realize that they are addicted, this seem to be the case with the addiction to violence and unhappiness. This is because addictions are what we refer to as epi (epigenetic) subconscious programming. The subconscious mind is a reactive mind where the addict gets to a point of automatically taking the stimuli without consciously thinking about it or it consequences.

The Epigenetic Process
We are not saying that you or your children will go out and committee violent acts of mayhem but that said Just ask yourself, could the wide spread violent, aggressive or unhappy social engineering through culture, education, religion, etc. humans have been exposed to and programmed with for thousands of years be having an adverse effect on our minds and DNA? Could that epigenetic process be passed down through our genes for generations and now be having an effect on some level on us all and our planet and because it is subconscious, and or unconscious we are unaware of it? Could worshiping gods and deities for thousands of years that battel amongst each other for power over the earth and humans or that inflicted suffering, violence and genocide in the name of love, peace, happiness have an influence on perceptions of love, peace and happiness regardless if we are religionist or not? Could violent entertainment out through history and in today’s world of mass media have a subconscious impact on us all regardless if we watch or participate in them or not? Could the 730,000,000 (million) negative, unhappy or violent “words” humans are exposed to have an impacted on our DNA and therefore our perceptions of violence and unhappiness?
The Bottom Line
Our intent is not to convince you that you or the world is addicted to violence and unhappiness, you can determine that for yourself and as you will read out through this web site there are some wonderful educational, religionist and cultural social engineering that we inspire to. That said, just ask yourself, if for hundreds if not thousands of years in the quest for world peace if religion, education and cultural social engineering as failed to the point of the sixth mass extinction of our planet as it worked? Is humans poisoning our food system with artificial chemicals and GMOs, distorting our spices and environment, constantly being at war, committing genocide and other destructions upon all sentient beings and our planet and we cannot stop, not an addiction to violence and unhappiness? Could the combination of what we have presents be at the very less partly why “history repeats itself”?
The bottom line here is that regardless if you choses to agree or disagree with our findings, world change starts with us individually. If you are constantly on the hedonic treadmill of emotionally and even physically abusing yourself, your love ones and or others with process foods, distress, victimhood, resentment, anger, jealousy, negative thinking and a host of other adverse energy information that not only weakens and or shuts down your immune system that can cause illness and even death but also contributes to the mass distinction of our planet and call it love, peace and happiness, could you be addicted to violence and unhappiness and not know it?

A must see video
It is only our intent to pass on our research in hopes of contributing to avoiding the sixth mass destruction of the human race for our children by presenting our findings to those that may find themselves constantly seeking love, peace and happiness, feeling unhappy or distressed regardless of what they do, who they meet or the abundance in which they have. As we express in our Glass metaphor (see related topics), one cannot repair or take the glass off the table if they are unaware that the glass is on the table. A person addicted to violence and or unhappiness cannot kick the addiction unless they are aware of it.
